Abstract
When performing a patient scan to collect patient data for reconstruction into one or more image volumes, a combination nuclear-radiographic subject imaging device () includes first and second detector heads (), which move on respective positionable tracks (). The positionable tracks move on stationary tracks () coupled to a rotatable gantry structure (). Each detector head is rotatably coupled to its positionable track by a rotation arm (). When a radiographic scan is performed, the first detector head () is rotated so that a radiographic detector () mounted to the first detector head () faces the patient, and an X-ray source () mounted to the second detector head () also faces the patient, opposite the radiographic detector (). When a nuclear imaging scan is performed, the detector heads () are rotated to face the patient during the scan.
