Abstract
A development deviceis separated into a toner agitating portionand a toner supply portionby a boundary wallin which a first openingand a second openingare formed. Inside the toner agitating portion, an agitation paddleis rotatably supported, and inside the toner supply portion, components such as a development roller, a toner supply roller, and a regulation membermade of metal for regulating the thickness of a thin toner layer formed on the development rollerand for electrically charging toner are provided. A grooveis formed in the regulation memberall along the length thereof.
