Abstract

A method of formulating a latex ink composition for a specific application temperature can include the steps of determining an application temperature for the latex ink composition; choosing at least one polar monomer having a dielectric constant of at least about 3.1; synthesizing latex particulates using the at least one polar monomer; admixing the latex particulates with a colorant, in a liquid vehicle, to form the latex ink composition; where the latex particulates are film forming at or below the application temperature, and the Tof the latex particulates is no more than about 15° C. less than the application temperature.
