The present invention discloses compounds of formula: where Ar, Ar, X, R, and m are as disclosed herein or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof (a 'Phenylene Compound'); compositions comprising an effective amount of a Phenylene Compound; and methods for treating pain and other conditions in an animal comprising administering to an animal in need thereof an effective amount of a Phenylene Compound.
