Abstract

A coated electrode includes a current collector of an etched aluminum foil having a thickness of 20 to 45 μm, an apparent density of 2.00 to 2.54 g/cm, an air permeability of 20 to 120 s and a number of through-holes penetrating therethrough from the front surface to the back surface, and an electrode layer formed by applying a coating material including, as an active material, a substance capable of reversibly carrying lithium ions and anions on to the current collector. The coated electrode is industrially producible, high in conductivity and strength, and excellent in evenness. A capacitor, for example, can make use of the electrode.
