Abstract
An aspiration apparatusis described that includes a guideand a set of needles. Guidepreferably has an approximately conical shape with a decreasing diameter in the distal direction. A plurality of lumensextend between a distal end portionand a proximal end portionof guide. Lumenshave distal openingsin distal end portionand proximal openings in proximal end portion. Lumensare acute and oblique to the longitudinal axis and diverge from each other and the central longitudinal axis as they extend distally from distal openings. Needleshave a tubular walland are slidingly positionable in lumens. Needlesinclude a longitudinal sectionof tubular wallthat has a plurality of aperturesthat decrease in size in the proximal direction. Aperturesdefine an approximately conically shaped area of harvest. Aspiration apparatuscan connect to an external source of reduced pressure through guideor directly to each needle. Guidecan selectively include a fixed guide needlethat extends approximately along the longitudinal axis from distal end portion
