Abstract
An envelope () flap () moistener has a moisture transfer member () for transferring liquid adhering thereto to a flap () of an envelope (). An encapsulation () containing the moisture transfer member () is equipped with a cap () suspended movably between a closed position and an open position. The encapsulation () encapsulates at least a portion of the moisture transfer member () including a contact surface () for contacting envelope () flap ()s to be moistened when the cap () is in the closed position and leaves the contact surface () of the moisture transfer member () exposed for allowing the contact surface () to contact an envelope () flap () when the cap () is in the open position.
