Abstract
A beverage maker () comprises a water tank () for containing and supplying water during a beverage making process, and a pump () for pumping the water out of the water tank (). In order to terminate a pumping action at a predetermined point, the beverage maker () comprises a switch () which is arranged in a pumping circuit () for energizing the pump (), a float () which is located in the water tank (), and a coupling arm () attached to the float (). During a pumping action, when a water level () in the water tank () is above a predetermined minimum level, the coupling arm () couples the float () to the switch (), and the switch () is held in a closed position. However, as soon as the water level () reaches the minimum level, the coupling of the float () to the switch () is lost, and the switch () switches back to an opened position, as a result of which the pumping action is terminated.
