Abstract
A reciprocating saw has a locking element () for axially fixing the saw blade () in a fastening device, wherein a release device () is provided, with which the locking element can be displaced into its release position against the spring force of an adjusting spring. A component (), acting upon the locking element, of the release device is arranged, with respect to the plane of the saw blade, on the same side as the locking element.
