Abstract
A liquid crystal display panel () includes an active matrix substrate (), a liquid crystal material (), and a color filter substrate (), wherein a spacer () is provided between the active matrix substrate () and the color filter substrate (), and the color filter substrate () includes a step section () for restricting a movement of a spacer, the step section being provided so as to surround the spacer (). This makes it possible to restrict the movement of the spacer in the liquid crystal display panel, thereby improving evenness of a cell gap.
