The invention includes an absorbent articlein which an undergarmentcan be prevented from getting dirty with fluid that has been absorbed by an absorbent body, without a decrease in the amount of fluid that can be absorbed. The absorbent articlethat is worn on a human body and used includes an absorbent bodyhaving a fluid-absorbent memberfor absorbing fluid, and having a longitudinal direction, a width direction, and a thickness direction, and a main body sectionwhose face on the side of the human body is overlapped with the absorbent bodyin the thickness direction, one end sectionin the longitudinal direction of the absorbent bodybeing fixed to the main body section, the absorbent bodyhaving a portion that is closer to the main body sectionthan the fluid-absorbent memberin the thickness direction and a portion that is closer to the human body than the fluid-absorbent member, wherein the portion closer to the main body section, in another end sectionin the longitudinal direction of the absorbent body, is covered with a fluid-impermeable layer, and the portion closer to the human body, in the other end section, has a portion in which the fluid-impermeable layeris not included.
