A differential () for a vehicle includes a differential case (), side gears (L,R) rotatably accommodated in the differential case (), pinion gears () engaged with the side gears (L,R), and pinion gear shaft () inserted through the pinion gears () to be supported by the differential case (), in which the differential case () has pinion gear supporting portions () for rotatably supporting the pinion gears (), respectively, the pinion gear shaft () has pinion gear supporting surfaces (A,B) for rotatably supporting the pinion gears (), respectively, and the pinion gear supporting surfaces (A,B) are disposed on a side of an axis line of rotation of the differential case () with respect to the pinion gear supporting portions ().
