A zoom lens includes, sequentially from an object side, a first lens group having a negative refractive power; and a second lens group having a positive refractive power, where focal length is varied by changing a distance between the first lens group and the second lens group, and a first conditional expression 0.8<|f/f|<1.0 is satisfied, fbeing the focal length of the first lens group and fbeing the focal length of the second lens group.
