Abstract
A fire extinguisher (') comprises a container (′) that holds a fire-extinguishing substance and that has a container jacket (′) closed at both ends, and a piston (′) which is axially displaceable in the container jacket and which separates a space (′) for fire-extinguishing substance from an expansion space (′) in the container. According to the invention, an inner compressed-gas chamber (′) provided in the container (′) is spatially separate from the expansion space and serves for controlled pressurizing of the expansion space (′). The piston (′) is arranged such that it can be displaced along the compressed-gas chamber (′).
