Abstract
A mullion assembly () includes a top mounting block () having a positioning rod () and attached to a top beam () of a door frame (). A bottom mounting block () is mounted on a floor () spaced from the top beam () in a vertical direction. A post () is detachably mounted between top and bottom mounting blocks (). A brace () is mounted to an upper end () of the post (). A mounting bracket () is mounted to the brace (). A pivotal plate () is pivotably mounted to the mounting bracket () and detachably engaged with the positioning rod (). A retaining member () is mounted to the mounting bracket () to lock the post () between the top and bottom mounting blocks (). The mounting bracket () moves upwardly and is coupled with the positioning rod (), allowing further locking of the post () when the mullion assembly () is exposed to a fire.
