Abstract
A insole () having puncture-resistant properties for safety footwear, comprising an anterior portion () extending from a toe region () to a metatarsal region () of the insole and a posterior portion () extending from the metatarsal region to a heel region () longitudinally opposite the toe region. The posterior portion () comprises at least one substantially rigid layer () made of composite material formed from a fibre-reinforced polymer matrix and the anterior portion () is formed of a substantially flexible material comprising at least one layer () formed of polymer fibres having enhanced puncture-resistant properties.
