The present invention provides a dispersant and compositions thereof. The dispersant is a residue of a non-aromatic hydrocarbyl substituted carboxylic acid containing three or more acid groups (A), wherein the dispersant may be represented by the Formula and salts thereof: [U—(Y)-T-N(R)-A]-Z(Q)-W, wherein the variables are defined herein.
