Abstract
A connecting part () for an optical connection of a first optical fiber () to a second optical fiber () comprises a sleeve-like cable mount () having a first cable receiving section (), in which the first optical fiber () can be housed, and a second cable receiving fiber section (), in which the second optical fiber () can be housed. The optical fiber ends () of the two optical fibers () can be welded together. Therefore, the second cable receiving section () is designed along the median longitudinal axis (L) in such a way, that it can be assembled and comprises a casing part (') pivotable about a hinge (). The weld joint is located within the pivoting range of the casing part. The cable mount comprises a screw-on coupling sleeve () for covering and fixation.
