Abstract
An information notification deviceincludes a memory unit, a request reception unit, and a communication unit. The memory unitstores first equipment information indicating the internal state of a printer engine. When the image forming apparatusis in sleep mode, the request reception unitreceives requests for second equipment information indicating the current state of the image forming apparatus. When the second equipment information is low rate of change with time first attribute information, the communication unittransmits the first equipment information to the requesting source. When the second equipment information is second attribute information, whose rate of change with time is higher than first attribute information, the power supplysupplies power to the engine, the communication unitobtains the second equipment information from the engineand transmits it to the requesting source.
