Abstract
A thermal recording material having a thermally color-forming thermal recording layer and a protective layer which are formed on a substrate in this order, wherein the protective layer is a layer obtained by applying an aqueous coating liquid containing a polyvinyl alcohol, a crosslinking agent, a pigment, an Arrhenius acid and a volatile amine onto the thermal recording layer and drying the applied coating liquid.
