Abstract

To search image information regarding image data, recorded on a storage medium, based on a desired search condition and to perform efficient display. An attribute-information obtaining sectionobtains attributes. For respective chapters, the attributes are held by an attribute file. A condition searching sectionsearches the attributes for the respective chapters in accordance with a condition input from a condition inputting section. A thumbnail obtaining sectionobtains thumbnails that match the search condition. An index displaying sectiondisplays the obtained thumbnails. When a thumbnail is selected via an image selecting section, an image reproducing sectionreproduces image data in accordance with link information extracted by a link-information extracting section
