Abstract

A Multiple Protocol Signal Detector, MPSD () has a mixer () that receives signal energy from a multi-band antenna system () via a low noise amplifier () and from a variable frequency synthesizer () via a first variable band pass filter (). The output of the mixer () passes through a second variable band pass filter () to an envelope detector () a power detector () and a low resolution A/D () that inputs digitized samples to a binary modulation detector, BMD (). A controller () configures the aforementioned devices of the MPSD () to detect communications using different protocols based on a scan Look Up Table ().
