Abstract

An electrophotographic toner containing a resin and a colorant is disclosed. The colorant is represented by the formula in the formula, Mis a silicon atom (Si), a germanium atom (Ge) and a tin atom (Sn); Z is independently a chlorine atom, a hydroxy group, an alkoxy group having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, or an aryloxy group having 6 to 8 carbon atoms; and A, A, Aand Aare each independently an atomic group defined in the specification.
