Abstract

A method of manufacturing a metal-carbon nanocomposite material in which aluminum is used as the matrix is disclosed. The manufacturing method comprises mixing a Si-coated carbon nanomaterial () and a powdered Mg material (), heating the mixture to a melting point of the Mg material or higher, and thereafter cooling the mixture to obtain an Mg-carbon nanomaterial (). A metal-carbon nanomaterial in which Al is used as the matrix is provided by cooling the Mg-carbon nanomaterial and molten Al () in a mixed state.
