Abstract
An electronic component capable of effectively dissipating heat generated in an LED chip and other elements is provided. A light emitting unitincludes a substratemade of copper or aluminum, an insulating layerformed on the surface thereof, a circuit patternformed on the insulating layer, and a circuit patternformed on the substratethrough an openingthat has been formed in advance in the insulation layer. An LED chipis mounted on the circuit patternsandby using solder. The LED chipincludes a ceramic substrate, electrodesandformed thereon, and an LED dieas a light emitting portion disposed on the electrode, which is one of the electrodes. Terminalsandare provided on the upper surface of the LED die. The terminal, which is one of the terminals, is connected to the electrodevia a bonding wire, and the terminal, which is the other one of the terminals, is connected to the electrodevia a bonding wire
