Abstract
The invention provides a process for removing COS and HS from a feed synthesis gas stream comprising COS and HS, the process comprising contacting the feed synthesis gas stream with solid adsorbent at a temperature in the range of from 100 to 240° C. to remove carbonyl sulphide and hydrogen sulphide, thereby obtaining a purified synthesis gas stream, wherein the solid adsorbent comprises one or more metals or oxides of the metals or combinations thereof and the metals are selected from the group of Ag, Sn, Mo, Fe and Zn.
