Abstract
A tensioner (') for a traction mechanism such as a belt, chain or the like, with a tensioning lever () which can be acted on by a helical spring (), can pivot about a stationary shaft and on which a tensioning element is provided for abutment against the traction mechanism to be tensioned. The helical spring () is held at its ends by spring receptacles () and a means () is provided for delimiting the spring excursion.
