Abstract
An electrochemical cell () is provided having a singular electrical coupling. A flexible substrate () having an interconnect extension () is coupled to an electrochemical cell structure (). The assembly is then placed into an enclosure (), such that a portion of the flexible substrate () is disposed within the enclosure (). The enclosure () is then sealed about the interconnect extension () such that the interconnect extension () projects distally from the closure () as a singular electrical coupling. Embodiments of the invention facilitate the manufacture of narrow cells without compromising cell reliability.
