Abstract

The present invention relates to the use, in a cosmetic composition, of an extract of at least one part of an orchid of the species, as an agent for maintaining or restoring the hydration state of the skin, said composition also containing a cosmetically acceptable excipient. This skin hydrating effect is obtained in particular by stimulating the expression of aquaporin 3 and of the LEKTI protein. The invention also relates to a cosmetic skincare method for the purpose of improving the hydration state of said skin.
