Abstract

In the redirection process, items (-) are sent through a delivery system () directed to a recipient () at a first address () served by a first address plant (). The recipient (), however, no longer desires to have items (-) delivered to the first address () served by the first address plant (), but now desires to have items delivered to an alternative address (). Items are collected at the first address plant () and are held for a period of time specified by the recipient (). Once this period of time for holding and collecting has expired, the items (-) are placed in a package (). This package () is then sent through the delivery system () to an alternative address plant (). Once the package () is received at the alternative address plant (), the package () is delivered to the recipient () at the alternative address ().
