The invention relates to a brake booster with a short operating travel, in which the three-way valve comprises a mobile valve seat borne by a sleeve (). The movement of this sleeve is controlled by the piston. According to the invention, there is an elastic device () applying force to the sleeve () in the direction of the front of the booster, and tending to move this sleeve forward with respect to the pneumatic piston (). In addition, there is a device for transmitting the pressure of the master cylinder () to the sleeve () and that tends to apply a rearward force to the sleeve ().
