Abstract
In a webbing take-up device, a worm gear, which is connected to a motor, engages with a gear wheel, and when the worm gearrotates, driving force is transmitted via the gear wheeland a clutch, whereby a take-up shaftis rotated in a take-up direction. Helix angles of teeth of the worm gearand the gear wheelare set so that thrust force generated at this time along the axial direction of the gear wheelfaces a leg platefixed side of a case. Accordingly, because the thrust force acts on the leg platefixed side of the case, i.e., on a frame, there is no need to provide the caseor a cover clutchwith high strength and rigidity.
