Abstract
A method of manufacturing a microlens substrateis provided. The microlens substrateis provided with a plurality of microlenses. The method includes the steps of: preparing a substratewith concave portions having two major surfaces, each of the plurality of concave portionshaving a shape corresponding to that of each of the plurality of microlensesbeing formed on one of the two major surfaces of the substratewith concave portions; preparing a base material substratemainly formed of a resin material, the base material substratehaving two major surfaces; and pressure-joining the substratewith concave portions to the base material substratein a heating state. In this case, in the pressure-joining step, the substratewith concave portions is joined to the base material substrateso that the plurality of concave portionsare filled with the resin material of the base material substratewhich has been melted by the heat.
