Abstract

The material utilization efficiency of FPC's is improved, to provide a low cost touch panel. A touch panelis constituted by: a rectangular transparent panel; and a plurality of light emitting elementsand a plurality of light receiving elementsprovided at the peripheral portions of the transparent panel, for specifying the coordinates of targets of detection. An elongate FPCis folded at a plurality of predetermined locations to be provided as a frame along the four sides, andof the transparent panel. The plurality of light emitting elementsare provided on the FPCalong two adjacent sides of the transparent panel, and the plurality of light receiving elementsare provided on the other two sides of the transparent panelso as to face the light emitting elements
