Abstract
There is provided an effective method for removing mercury comprising injecting NaClOinto an emission gas containing elemental mercury and NO; converting the elemental mercury to oxidized mercury by using oxidizing agents produced by the NaClOand the NO; and removing oxidized mercury from the emission gas.
