Abstract
A process for producing a rare earth alloy comprising: heating a raw material alloy in an inert atmosphere to be a molten alloy, and then quench-solidifying the molten alloy, wherein the raw material alloy is compounded so as to have a composition represented by the formula: RE(FeM)Sb(wherein RE is at least either one member of La and Ce, M is at least one member selected from the group consisting of Ti, Zr, Sn and Pb, 0<x≦1, 0.01≦y≦0.15, and the lower limit of y is more than impurity).
