Abstract
A wireless communication device () includes a radio frequency transceiver () adapted for burst transmission responsive to an enable signal in accordance with at least one communication protocol and an infrared transceiver () adapted for asynchronous data communication. The infrared transceiver () is responsive to the enable signal to suspend data communication. A controller () is coupled to each of the radio frequency transceiver () and the infrared transceiver (), and the controller () is operable to generate the enable signal in accordance with the at least one communication protocol.
