Abstract

In a thermal headof the present invention, a head-side I/Fincludes: an LVDS receiverthat receives a low-voltage differential signal from a set-side I/Fand converts the low-voltage differential signal into a single-end signal that is then outputted; a decoderthat divides an output from the LVDS receiverinto a data signal string DAT and a trigger signal TG; and a clock generating sectionthat generates a clock signal CLK that is synchronized by the trigger signal TG, and a driver circuitreads a print data signal DI and various control signals in response to the clock signal CLK and drives a heat generating element according to the print data signal DI and the various control signals.
