Abstract
A device for frothing and steaming milk has a steamer () and a steamer tube () connected to a steam conduit (). The steam conduit () is provided with an air feeder port () which can be closed off. The steamer tube () has a temperature sensor () for sensing the milk temperature. The device has furthermore a controller () devised to open/close the air feeder port () as a function of the operating mode and/or sensed milk temperature. When the milk is steamed the air feeder port () remains closed whilst when frothing the milk it normally firstly remains closed until opened at a predefined milk temperature so that air can be mixed in the flow of steam.
