An information management apparatusaccording to the present invention comprises: a databasefor storing information relevant to a printertherein; output request reception meansfor receiving an output request transmitted from a portable terminal; inquiry signal transmission meansfor transmitting an inquiry signal on the printerbeing an output destination to the portable terminal; communication means for receiving image data transmitted from the portable terminal; recognition meansfor recognizing the identification information of the printerby analyzing the image data transmitted in response to the inquiry signal; retrieval meansfor retrieving the information relevant to the printerfrom the data baseon the basis of the acquired recognition information; and printing meansfor outputting the information to the printeron the basis of the information relevant to the printerretrieved by the retrieval means
