Abstract
A band converted signal generator includes a low range characteristic application section () as a component emphasis means emphasizing only one or more specific frequency components selected from among frequency components of an input signal; and a low pass filter () as a component extraction means extracting a signal component of a desired frequency band from an output signal supplied from the low range characteristic application section (). A band extender () includes the above-mentioned band converted signal generator, and an adder () adding the input signal, a certain frequency band of which is suppressed, and a signal including at least one component generated within the certain frequency band which is suppressed.
