Abstract
A rotating combination thrust plate and thrust shaft flange (), and a thrust bearing assembly () incorporating the rotating flange plate combination (), in which the rotating flange plate combination () has a generally cylindrical body portion () which has a rotating base surface () and a lateral surface (), a frustoconical body portion () which has a frustoconical surface (), and a bore () extending through the cylindrical and frustoconical body portions (and) and having a first bore section () and a second bore section () wherein the second bore section () is adjacent the rotating base surface () and has a smaller diameter then the first bore section (). The first and second bore sections meet at a junction () defining a lip () which is designed to support a complimentary lip () of a bore shaft () thereby restricting the movement of the bore shaft () in the direction of thrust in an extruder.
