A hot melt adhesive is applied to a side of a fibrous sheet(e.g., nonwoven fabric) with an applicatorto form an adhesive layer. Ink drops are ejected from an inkjet headonto either (1) the adhesive layeron that side of the fibrous sheet or (2) the opposite side of the fibrous sheet within the area corresponding to the adhesive layer
