Abstract
A shock absorbing device for a shoe sole includes: an outer sole; a midsole M; and a deformation elementplaced between the outer soleand the midsole M. The deformation elementis positioned at a periphery of a rear foot partB and includes a bending deformation memberthat opens toward the periphery from a center of the rear foot partB. The bending deformation memberincludes a lower plate portion, an upper plate portionthat forms an opening angle with respect to the lower plate portion, and a curved portionthat connects the lower plate portionand the upper plate portion. The lower plate portionand the upper plate portionare gradually getting away from each other as a distance from the curved portion increases. A rubber-like or pod-like compression deformation memberis fit between the lower and upper plate portions. When an impact force of landing is loaded to the bending deformation member, the lower plate portionand/or the upper plate portiondisplaces or deflects in such a manner as to rotate about the curved portionwith the compression deformation memberbeing compressed.
