Abstract
A zoom lens ZL installed in an electronic still cameraincludes, in order from an object side, a first lens group Ghaving negative refractive power, and a second lens group Ghaving positive refractive power. A distance between the first lens group Gand the second lens group Gvaries upon zooming from a wide-angle end state to a telephoto end state. The second lens group Ghas a front lens group GF and a rear lens group GR, and the front lens group GF is moved along the optical axis upon focusing on a close object, thereby providing a compact zoom lens having excellent optical performance, an optical apparatus equipped with the zoom lens, and a method for manufacturing the zoom lens.
