Abstract
A portable television-broadcast reception unit is provided which is capable of changing the direction of a directional antenna easily to a direction where an enough quality to watch television can be obtained. In this unit: a television-broadcast reception sectionreceives a broadcast wave using a directional antenna; a direction measurement sectionmeasures the direction of the directional antenna; an electric-field strength measurement sectionmeasures the electric-field strength value of the received broadcast wave; a storage sectionstores an electric-field strength management table which includes the direction measured by the direction measurement sectionand the electric-field strength value measured by the electric-field strength measurement section; a control sectioncontrols the measurement of the direction and the measurement of the electric-field strength, updates the electric-field strength management table and selects the direction where the maximum electric-field strength value can be obtained; an image-turn processing sectionturns the received image so that the upper part of the image is oriented to the direction where the maximum electric-field strength value can be obtained; and a display sectiondisplays the turned image.
