Abstract
A transparent substrate, into which light from a light sourceis introduced through at least one side, includes a transparent first glass substrate (substrate body)and a low refractive index layerthat is disposed on the first glass substrateand has a lower refractive index than the first glass substrate. Moreover, a high refractive index layerhaving a higher refractive index than the low refractive index layeris disposed on the low refractive index layer, thereby preventing the generation of light that leaks from the first glass substrateto the outside through the low refractive index layer
