Abstract

A liquid crystal panel includes a liquid crystal cell having a liquid crystal layer containing liquid crystal molecules that are vertically aligned in an absence of a voltage; a first optical compensation layer having a relationship of Nz =1 to 2.5 and a relationship of Re(380) <Re(550) <Re(780); a second optical compensation layer having a relationship of nx =ny >nz and a relationship of Re(380) >Re(550) >Re(780); a first polarizer; a third optical compensation layer having a relationship of Nz =1 to 2.5 and a relationship of Re(380) <Re(550) <Re(780); a fourth optical compensation layer having a relationship of nx =ny >nz and a relationship of Re(380) >Re(550) >Re(780); and a second polarizer wherein: the first optical compensation layer, the second optical compensation layer, and the first polarizer are placed on one side of the liquid crystal cell; and the third optical compensation layer, the fourth optical compensation layer, and the second polarizer are placed on the other side of the liquid crystal cell.
