Abstract

An absorbent article having a liquid pervious topsheet having a first portion and a second portion. The first portion differs in structure from the second portion. The topsheet has a longitudinal centerline and a transverse centerline. The second portion has a first structurally modified zone and a second structurally modified zone. The first structurally modified zone and the second structurally modified zone are on opposing sides of the longitudinal centerline and the first structurally modified zone and the second structurally modified zone are on opposing sides of an axis parallel to the transverse centerline. The first structurally modified zone and the second structurally modified zone are spaced apart from one another. The first structurally modified zone and the second structurally modified zone together make up more than about 10% of the area of the topsheet.
