Abstract
An apparatus for dispensing utilities at a selected location of a work station. The apparatus has a housing that has an upper peripheral portion and a pair of oppositely positioned sidewalls that extend downwardly from the upper peripheral portion. The housing defines a spatial region between the sidewalls. The housing has an opening that is bounded by the upper peripheral portion and in communication with the spatial region. An inner support structure is attached to and between the sidewalls of the housing and located within the spatial region of the housing. The inner support structure has sidewalls, a bottom portion and a pair of lengthwise panel members that define a spatial region of the inner support structure. The inner support structure has a generally 'V' shape cross-section wherein the lengthwise panels are angulated with respect to the bottom portion and away from each other. A utility receptacle module is attached to each lengthwise panel. Each utility receptacle module has at least one utility receptacle that is in communication with and accessible through the spatial region of the inner support structure. A cable extends from each utility receptacle module and is in electrical signal communication with the utility receptacle. Two lid members are movably attached to the housing of the inner support structure. Each lid member is movable between a closed position and an open position that provides access to the spatial region of the inner support structure and the utility receptacles.
